“Their deaths deserve no less fire and fury than those of [their male counterparts], and affecting change means also challenging the more discreet forms of violence they face. But [America] cannot help those who it fails to see or hear or name." - Gabrielle Bellot, The Cut

MISSION

Breonna Hill, Rekia Boyd, Sandra Bland . . . These are some of the names BLACK WOMEN MATTER aims to highlight. Our purpose is to raise awareness to the thousands of black women who are victims of police brutality and domestic violence. The truth is, there's an extreme disparity when it comes to U.S media coverage of black women suffering under domestic and state violence, compared to their male counterparts. Many of these cases - and deaths - have not been properly investigated or given the attention they deserve. Here, we broadcast their stories and stand in solidarity. Take action, and bring justice to their names.
